As you may be aware the BIGWU as a member unit of NATUC, has been engaging in discussions with other trade unions and community based organisations, within the framework of a broadly organised coalition named the People’s Democracy. For a period of weeks the organisations have been meeting to discuss the deteriorating state of affairs in the country.
We have agreed that the authorities have been neglecting to address the following:
1. Crime and Violence;
2. Withdrawal of the Property Tax;
3. High Food Prices;
4. Lack of transparency as regards the (UDECOTT) Enquiry;
5. Attacks on Labour through decertification and backward labour laws;
6. Attempts to entrench power in the hands of our Executive President.
We have decided to take large scale protest action as follows:
FIVE DAYS OF ACTION
- Friday, November 20th and
Saturday, November 21st - WEAR RED

- Sunday, November 22nd - MASS RALLY
===========================================================
- Monday, November 23rd and
Tuesday, November 24th - STAY AT HOME
- SEND A STRONG SIGNAL AND STAY AT HOME IN PROTEST AGAINST DETERIORATING CONDITIONS IN OUR BELOVED COUNTRY!!!
- EACH DAY THE SITUATION BECOMES WORSE!!!
- THE SITUATION WILL NOT IMPROVE EXCEPT WE INTERVENE!!!
- NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!!!
